Welcome to United Presbyterian
Church!
Our congregation formed in 1970 as the merger
of the Salem Welsh Presbyterian (founded in 1849) and the First
Presbyterian (founded in 1855) churches of Slatington, PA. We are
affiliated with the Presbyterian Church
(USA), the largest Presbyterian denomination in the USA and the Lehigh
Presbytery.
Our fellowship is moving into the new
millennium with one eye on our heritage and the other on God’s future.
We are aware of the many blessings God has showered on us in the past, but
we know that the best is yet to come.
Our Vision is:
Joyfully linking people to God, each other,
and the world through the love of Jesus Christ.
By this
we mean that our call is to spread God’s good news of salvation and
abundant life in real-life ways that help people feel gratitude for all
God’s blessings and to make genuine, meaningful connection with God’s
people.
Some of the things we believe in are:

God who cares for us and forgives our sins; whose love
will never be taken from us

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who redeems us through his
death and resurrection and who teaches
us through his
words and example

The Holy Spirit who dwells in each heart and who calls us
to be compassionate, giving and loving

Practicing what we preach and following the Bible to the
best of our ability knowing that we will fail, but
confident that God will
use our efforts to bring blessing to the world.
